Specialist Kitchen cabinet painters Harrogate: The majority of painted bespoke kitchens are hand painted with a small percentage sprayed; both finishes will protect your kitchen and look incredible. At hpkuk.com we can offer both finishes but feel discerning clients aiming to achieve a true bespoke look to their kitchen will find a professional hand painted finish second to none. Kitchen companies that supply kitchens with a sprayed finish can often look slightly unfinished as they don’t tend to caulk in the transition joints for example as on a hand finished project.Kitchen cabinet painters Harrogate
Mark Wilkinson Furniture in Harrogate
Our founding members Chris Graham and Kevin Mapstone spent quite a bit of time around Harrogate. This was essentially down to having a Mark Wilkinson showroom in the town. Chris and Kevin worked at Mark Wilkinson for over 15 years and travelled not only the length and breadth of this country, but all over the world too! Our guys in the North West and North East also have an extensive portfolio of work to look at. Our blog section is just a glimpse into some projects from each area that we work.
Several enquiries cames in over the course of last year from people wanting to change the colour of their new Howdens Kitchen. This can also be done and gives you more options when choosing your kitchen. You are not just stuck with standard colours
Bespoke kitchens on the whole tend to come primed with the internals already finished. Preparing this type of kitchen starts with making good all the fixing holes and caulking all transition joints. The kitchen is then rubbed flat so the orange peel effect from the sprayed primer finish won’t show through on the final finish; rubbing flat through each stage is part of what produces the perfect hand painted finish. A sprayed finish can look too generic whereas a hand painted finish is layed off in the direction that the grain would naturally run. The hand painted finish is a very fine finish achieved by a highly skilled artisan. When viewed in different lighting situations you can see the direction the paint was applied but still keeping an even sheen level throughout.
We receive many comments on the level of finish we achieve with a brush. This is down to years of experience and also using the correct procedures when painting any kitchen
Spraying a kitchen can involve a lot more masking and can require extraction units to remove fumes and paint particles from the air. The advantage with spraying over hand painting is the painting process is quicker but leaves the kitchen out of use when these processes are being executed, with a hand painted finish it is less intrusive.
Repairs made easy using a brush
The other benefits of a hand painted kitchen is that its easier to touch up if any accidents happen. This more often than not can be done by the client with a small brush and some of the touch up paint that will be left with you on completion.
