These kitchens come completely raw and will need finishing inside too.

This particular kitchen had lots of natural light.The colour chosen was similar to light blue by Farrow and Ball mixed in Tikkurila, Helmi 10 by Valtti.

“The Work”

There was a fair amount of prep required. This included protecting the floor, taping all transition joins between the tulip frames and the oak veneered carcass. I used a high adhesion primer which would give good grip and also provide good coverage using the colour chosen.

This customers kitchen represented fantastic value and can be bought online. I would recommend the use of a kitchen designer to give you the layout you require. This will also give you ideas that you may not have thought about.

The kitchen was stripped down to allow this young family to continue using the kitchen during the painting process. Essentials kept out and non essentials where boxed and packed away.

The colour was a great choice and worked really well with the stone floor. The chrome pulls and knobs were a perfect choice. The helmi 10 gave a beautiful eggshell finish and showed off the beauty of this bespoke shaker kitchen.

This was a real useful addition in this fabulous Harpenden home.

On leaving there were a few tight doors. My suggestion was to leave the kitchen to settle. The consequence of easing the doors too soon can be large unsightly gaps between door and frame. The client agreed and would wait 2/3 weeks before allowing the fitter to return, any edges can be easily touched in.

The island was a real showpiece and would be a fantastic use of the space.
