Mark Wilkinson kitchen cabinet painters London: We were contacted by a client in London who had a 20 year old Mark Wilkinson Provence kitchen in a wood finish. The client felt the kitchen was maybe starting to show signs of wear and the dark wood was absorbing a lot of light out of the kitchen. Over the years we have worked for many high profile clients and respect their privacy. The client was the chairman of a football club mentioned that the previous owner was the musician Mark Bolan.
The process and initial prep!
The client wanted all damaged areas repaired and the units painted in a light colour to give the kitchen more of a spacious feel. We started by protecting all kitchen flooring and worktops and the units were degreased and washed down. Once the units were dry, any damaged areas were filled and the whole kitchen was completely rubbed down. We applied a shellac based primer which not only adheres to the substrate but stops any tanning. Once the primer had dried, we filled in any dents or holes and any areas that need making good. The units were rubbed down and cleaned again and we then applied an undercoat. Two topcoats of Helmi 10 were applied giving a 10% sheen to the paint finish.
All furniture was refitted and after the protection was removed, the kitchen was thoroughly cleaned. Mark Wilkinson kitchen cabinet painters London
