We were contacted by a client who had decided on a kitchen makeover to mark their 25th wedding anniversary. The wooden kitchen had started to look dated and needed a fresh new look; with ideas on colour combinations, hpkuk.com came to the rescue.

The kitchen was dismantled, removing all doors, drawer fronts and kickboards that were taken to our workshop. The process at the workshop includes degreasing, sanding and filling any flaws in preparation for priming. The primer we used on this wooden kitchen was shellac-based which not only gives good adhesion to the substrate but will stop any tanning bleeding through the painting system.
Choosing colours
The Clients had chosen an overall colour for the kitchen and wanted to highlight an old unit for wine storage which had sentimental value in Stiffkey Blue. The advantage of taking the doors etc to the workshop is that it enables us to fully prepare all items and minimizes

Onsite work
With all doors finished at the workshop, it was time to complete the work onsite. We began by protecting all of the areas that weren’t going to be painted including the floor and then the remainder of the kitchen went through the same processes as the doors at the workshop. Once the site work had been completed, the doors were returned and refitted and the kitchen protection was removed. All areas were cleaned leaving a stunning new look for their kitchen.
