This kitchen was newly installed kitchen by McCarron & Co for a client’s holiday home. As with all our projects, the kitchen area was fully protected and also organised into a working area. This also enabled us to complete the procedures needed to achieve a perfect finish for this beautiful bespoke kitchen.

Preparing a newly installed bespoke kitchen

With a newly installed kitchen there are certainly a few more procedures needed to achieve the final look. One of the main things indeed is caulk all transition joints, including wall and granite joints. When the caulking and filling are completed, the kitchen is sanded to create a smooth finish. Firstly, we apply an adhesion primer to give a sound and perfect base to apply fine surface filler; the substrate is then rubbed down with Mirka gold sanding sheets, vacuumed and cleaned with tack cloth.

We apply the topcoats and lay off the paint with special laying off brushes, this produces a fine finish which in turn is complemented by the handles and appliances.
