Painting of a Burlanes Kitchen by Callum Norton

Earlier in the year I was contacted by a lovely family in Bromley to paint their beautiful
Burlanes kitchen. Slightly unsure and also nervous of the process, they also
explained what they were certainly hoping to achieve and how much it meant to the
to them to furthermore bring their kitchen back to life.
We discussed colours, finishes and the process until they were satisfied
they were in the right hands. After all, it’s a room that most people
consider the hub of the home. Kitchen cabinet painter Bromley Kent

Process

Once arriving on site and being greeted by a rather energetic Jack Russel,
we set our minds to the task ahead. Firstly we protect the room. All
surfaces were thoroughly protected to ensure not one flick of paint had the
chance to ruin them. Kitchen cabinet painter Bromley Kent

All necessary doors, drawers, handles and magnets were dismantled. This also
allows us to get to every nook and cranny of the furniture. They are
meticulously analysed, filled and sanded using the impressive Festool RTS
400 REQ. This sander/hoover combination without a doubt ensures no dust find its way
around the house. This process was continued on the frames of the kitchen
until we were ready to prime. hand painted kitchen

We primed the kitchen in an adhesion primer colour matched to that of the
top coats to follow “Hague Blue’. This ensure not only a more durable and
resistant covering but also keeps true to the deep pigment in the paint.

Once all doors, drawers and framework had received their coat of primer
and two top coats, we were ready to reassemble and have a good tidy up.
In just over a week the kitchen was transform from a slightly tired and
chipped grey, to the kitchen you see in the photos. The customer was
delighted and we’ve been back since to paint more pieces of furniture
around the home. Kitchen cabinet painter Bromley Kent
