Hand painted bespoke kitchen Berkshire: First published on kevinmapstone.com
This hand painted bespoke kitchen Berkshire was commissioned by McCarron & Co. The client’s colour choices were the equivalent to Farrow & Ball Railings and Winbourne White which give a great contemporary twist to this country kitchen.
Preparation of a bespoke kitchen
As with all kitchen preparation! It starts with protecting the areas of the kitchen you don’t want paint on. The kitchen comes primed but all the joints and any defects need to be filled and made good. Units sanded smooth using Festool dust extraction units. Cleaned down, hoovered and tack ragged, Painting begins.
Painting a bespoke kitchen
We applied the first coat of Feelings Primer Undercoat furniture paint by Tikkurila which was supplied by Holman Paints. Halogen lamps highlight any defects. Defects filled using ready patch fine surface filler. We used sanding pads to nib down the filler and paintwork and after a good vacuum and clean with a tack rag, we began applying the top coats.
For the top coats we used Feeling furniture satin finish.
All cupboards, worktops and floor areas cleaned.
With the combination of the two colours and the design of the kitchen. It gives a contemporary feel to this beautiful country kitchen!
