Kitchen cabinet painter Barnard Castle Teesdale County Durham: Hand painted kitchen by Ryan Nicolson, HPKUK specialist painter in the North East.
I was approached by a client who said I had been recommended by there decorator to go and have a look a their oak kitchen to see if I could paint it. I paid her a visit with interior designer Alyson savage from Living Niche Barnard Castle. We all spoke about colours and what primer I was going to use on the units.
The client chose Farrow & Ball Amonite for the surrounding units and Zoffany Como blue for the island, both supplied by Living Niche Barnard Castle.
As you can see the kitchen is dated but sill in very good condition. At HPKUK we do loads of kitchens just like this and the results speak for themselves. It makes sense, when the furniture is of this quality that you look down the route of painting. Kitchen cabinet painter Barnard Castle Teesdale County Durham
“Starting the job”
When I started the job a few weeks later I de greased all the cabinets ready for filling and priming. Once I had applied two coats of tinted primer I took my time sanding it all down using 180 grade sanding pads then again using a 240 grade until the surface was like glass. Once sanded dusted and tack ragged I started applying the first coat of eggshell then a light sand before applying the top coat of eggshell.
After completion I cleaned up and put back on all handles and knobs.
The client couldn’t believe the transformation of the units and said
I will be certainly recommending you it looks like a brand new kitchen
